Body Acceptance is a Practice 2


In this 2 1/2 hour introductory workshop, we will explore the intersection of yoga and body acceptance through discussion and writing, and then put these tools into play in a 60 minute body-loving gentle yoga practice that any BODY can do. This workshop is open to yoga practitioners at all levels of experience – including those who have never practiced yoga before. Come join us and learn how you can introduce more self-compassion, self-love, self-care and body acceptance in your yoga practice – and your life. For Lisa, yoga is more than a physical practice: it is the path to a peaceful, loving, relationship with one’s Self. Lisa’s work as a yoga Body-Love-Now Lisa-38teacher, teacher trainer, and body image warrior is based on her belief that we are all okay exactly as we are. Through years of exploring, customizing and adjusting the physical practice of yoga to suit her own larger body, Lisa developed Body Positivity Yoga – an approach to yoga that is truly accessible to all ages, sizes and levels of ability. Lisa is a community partner in the Yoga and Body Image Coalition and the creatress of Meet Yourself Where You Are – a course for those wanting to learn more about body acceptance, self-acceptance, self-care and personal empowerment.

Lisa Papez is a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200/RYT-500), has completed advanced studies in sequencing, anatomy and alignment and is certified in Yoga Nidra, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Prenatal and Chair Yoga and certifies yoga teachers in the Body Positivity Yoga method – a fully customized approach to teaching yoga for all bodies. All of Lisa’s courses, classes, and workshops are free of diet and weight-loss talk.
