Unison Yoga - Shanti YogathonWasn’t May 3rd extraordinary?!

Our Yogathon fundraiser for www.shantiuganda.org raised almost $2000! Do you know how far that goes in Uganda? Thank-you to everyone who came out to support Shanti Uganda and to promote yoga and community in Mission. Our teachers (Natalie, Jaromey, Andrea and Padma) were truly inspiring, and the energy we created as a group was beautiful.

Unison Yoga - Shanti UgandaWe had some great community involvement and would like to thank FRASER VALLEY BUILDING SUPPLIES for donating an outdoor clock which went to Nicole for bringing in the highest donation of over $200! Special thanks also go to our door prize sponsors: NATURAL REFLEXTIONS donated a $25 Spa Gift Certificate. The MISSION SPRINGS donated a $25 Gift Card. And STARBUCKS donated a huge tea basket. Thank-you! Please be sure to support these inspiring local businesses!

March is allmost over (can you believe it?). We focused on meditation this month with articles at the studio, a Spring Equinox Meditation and we still have the upcoming Meditation for Stress Management workshop on March 28th. Have you thought about how meditation may fit into your life? Have you learned something about meditation you never knew before? My intention is to “plant the seed” whether or not you choose to water, nurture and grow that “seed” is up to you.

I’ve been perusing the web for some interesting articles on meditation and thought I’d share the links, rather than print them off.

http://www.healthandyoga.com/html/mediinfo.html There are quite a few articles here, and it looks like the rest of the site has lots of info.

http://www.ananda.org/meditation/support/articles.html This site is pretty interesting. You can sign up for their free monthly newsletter on meditation. Just a heads up, there is a lot of reference to God, which I know can be a sensitive, personal issue. Read it, keep what speaks to you and toss the rest.

These are just a couple of sites I found. The information is endless. If you google “meditation articles” you’ll find lots of neat stuff.

As Wendy likes to say, “Don’t wait-Meditate!”

Blessings, Tracy

Unison Yoga - Yoga Under TreeMarch 20, 2009

At Spring Equinox we’re leaving the long winter nights symbolically “coming out of the darkness into the light.” It is a time of renewal, transformation and rebirth. We focused on setting positive intentions for the coming cycle, clearing anything that blocks the flow of divine-universal energy. (The global collective consciousness holds a lot of fear, anger, worry, negative thought patterns.) In meditation we will clear these from our own energy field. Clearing the way for the new and the positive highest vibration of harmony, peace, joy and love to enter.

In the spirit of Karma Yoga, or selfless service, this class was complimentary. Andrea donated her time and Unison Yoga donated the space.

Unison Yoga - Couples YogaOn Friday, February 13th we had our Couples Yoga workshop just in time for Valentine’s Day. We practiced postures together, breathed together and saw our partners in a whole new Light. It was a great group of yogis and everyone had a fun evening.

Thanks to everyone who made this evening memorable (and full of laughs!)
